“Our Christian communities must become genuine schools of prayer, where the meeting with Christ is expressed not just in imploring help but also in thanksgiving, praise, adoration, contemplation, listening and ardent devotion, until the heart truly “falls in love.”… St. John Paul II
What is it?: A Holy hour for those who seek an encounter with God in his Divine Trinity.
Jesus Christ is present in the Most Holy Eucharist and in His Divine Word. The love of our Eternal Father is made available through the sacrament of reconciliation, and we invite the Holy Spirit through collective prayer, praise and thanksgiving.
What should I expect?
The evening usually lasts 1 hour, from exposition to benediction and reposition.
Our pastor, Father Jim, is usually available for confessions. We pray The Liturgy of the Hours -evening prayer. Our Praise & Worship band plays prayerful contemporary Christian songs (we give out lyrics for people to sing along, but no one is required to sing). Prayers, witness talks, and scripture reflections are sometimes also part of the evening. The night ends with Benediction.
How long is it?: 1 hour
Who is it for? All who are thirsty for an Encounter! All are welcome: families, teens, young adults, older adults, and seniors, all have found this a rich experience to Encounter Jesus! We come to pray, to sing, to listen, to contemplate, praise, and Encounter God, and we come for the company of others as well, as a community, sharing our faith with our friends and brothers in Christ.
