Dances, high teas, Easter egg hunts, oh my!

The McDevitts at our October 2024 Feastival
I hope you’ve noticed the increase in fun events like these over the last couple years. Coming out of covid, our staff at St. Francis has been intentional about offering opportunities to build up our community and even more so, our family -both, families within the parish and the parish family as a whole. Our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed these efforts abundantly and many parishioners and visitors alike recognize the true Christian Joy in our St. Francis of Assisi parish family. Thanks be to God!
It is this witness of Christian Joy and family that is so attractive to a culture without faith and without friendship, and inspires curiosity about the virtuous life and the source of our joy. With this truth in mind, we are setting out to celebrate the anniversary of our parish dedication with not only parishioners, but neighbors, friends, and acquaintances as well!
The Block Party on June 21st is the perfect introduction to the Catholic faith and to our faith community. Jesus Christ is the reason we come together to celebrate, and the celebration is attractive to anyone! Who doesn’t want good food, music, corn hole, and dancing on a summer Saturday night?
As we build a culture of invitation in our parish, this is a great, low-stakes opportunity to exercise the muscle of evangelization, which in its simplest form, is the muscle of invitation!
So join us! I invite you to celebrate this joyous occasion with our parish family. I ask you to invite a neighbor, extended family, colleague, or friend to come and see, to experience our Christian Joy and perhaps encounter the Source of our joy, Jesus Christ!
