The King Awaits You

By Chris Massarotti | Parishioner

For the next several weeks, SFA parishioners will share their personal accounts of how the Eucharist has impacted their spiritual journey and life. We know they are not alone. If you wish to share your story for publication in the Bulletin regarding your encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist during Mass or during Eucharistic Adoration please submit your witness to fidel@sfassisi.org by the end of February. You have the choice to remain anonymous if you prefer.

I have been doing Eucharistic Adoration for a long time. I started back in high school when my dad invited me to go with him when he did his hour once a month. This simple devotion helped cement my relationship with my dad during a time when it was most needed.

Recently, my world was rocked by a life changing event... a new job with a long commute. Fortunately the new area had a church with an adoration chapel so I started going in before work on most mornings.

I have to tell you that in these most sublime of moments, heaven has been opened in my heart as I sense the literal presence of Christ Himself. The consolation and gratitude I feel in that chapel are hard to describe but I can confidently say that I have been walking out of that chapel renewed and encouraged. I call these "rockstar moments".

Now I can't promise you will feel the same as soon as you walk in the door to see Jesus in the blessed sacrament, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did. Are you out of gas in your journey through life? Give Eucharistic Adoration a try. You won't regret it and remember... The King of the universe is eagerly awaiting you.

Eucharistic Revival Team at St. Francis of Assisi

The National Eucharistic Revival is a three-year initiative commissioned by the bishops of the United States to "restore understanding and devotion" to the Eucharist. The initiative in our parish is supported by a team of volunteers.
