Good Friday Walk

We are in need of this annual Good Friday Walk more than ever! Because of the pandemic, the event will look different than years past. While this event may not be organized like previous years, we want other families to know we are connected in faith in more ways than one.

Some of the coordinators will walk from St. John the Baptist to St. Francis of Assisi (~5 miles), starting around 9am and arriving before noon, in time to join the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which starts at 12:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi. All are welcome to follow us, walk ahead, or decide your own walking route and start time. We are not organizing any police escorts, crossing streets together as a large group, or coordinating any transportation rides back. In addition, we will follow the Boulder County/CO Covid requirements (gather in your own family or groups of 10 or less, stay distanced apart, and mask when necessary). Please use your best judgment as we are publicly visible and want to be a positive sign to the community.

Again we urge everyone on this solemn, prayerful walk to treat this day like no other day of the year, because it is not. Our Lord sacrificed ALL for you and me on this day. It is not the day of business, school, or shopping that the world would have us see. It is GOOD FRIDAY. God bless your Lenten journey!
