Join us for a wonderful Piano recital. Karmen Grubisic is a 18-year old gifted pianist, parishioner, and has been our organ accompanist for the 10am Mass since last year. Karmen is currently applying to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University, Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music, School of Music, Theater and Dance at the University of Michigan, Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, and the Curtis Institute of Music. We are blessed to get to hear a world-class repertoire, right in our church!
About the Performer
Karmen was born in Reno, Nevada. She started piano lessons at age four in Boulder, Colorado. Her piano studies were continued in Vienna, Austria with Prof. Hrvoje Jugović. Currently, she is a student of Prof. Christopher Harding, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has been participating in piano summer schools and festivals in the US and Europe from an early age. Karmen has won a number of solo piano and concerto competitions, and has performed as the soloist in concertos by Bach, Mozart, and Grieg. Most recently, after winning the Colorado State Competition, in January 2020 Karmen won the West Central Regional MTNA Senior Piano Competition. She is an enthusiastic chamber player.
