Experience Biber’s Masterpiece: The Rosary Sonatas
Celebrate October—the Month of the Holy Rosary—with an extraordinary evening of sacred Baroque music as violinist Frangel López Ceseña and keyboardist (organ and harpsichord) Joel Bacon perform selected works from Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber’s celebrated Rosary Sonatas.
Composed around 1676, Biber’s Rosary Sonatas are renowned for their emotional depth, intricate virtuosic technique, and unique musical depictions of the mysteries of the Rosary. Presented in collaboration with Colorado State University Catholic Studies, this concert offers a contemplative journey through music spanning both joyful and sorrowful themes.
