Did You Know? Jesus is Fully Alive in the Consecrated Host

Some of the Eucharistic miracles that have been previously discussed in this section of the bulletin point to the consecrated Host containing human tissue. These miracles often occur at times when faith in the Real Presence of Jesus is weak. People have a hard time believing in miracles because they cannot be logically explained.

The Holy Catholic Church teaches that at the Mass, at the moment of the Consecration, the bread and wine on the altar truly become the Body and Blood of Christ. It is not merely a symbol. It is a mystery beyond the total grasp of our senses and can only be comprehended by faith. Remember how the video Beyond the Veil (based on the mystic Catalina Rivas’ vision) revealed how much was going on unseen during the Mass?

The Gospel of John records the teaching of Jesus on eating His Body:

‘For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.’ They said to Him, ‘Lord, give us this bread always.’ Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst’. (John 6:33-35

‘Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.’ (John 6:47-50)

‘Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him.’ (John 6:53-56)

Also Matthew 26:26 on the Institution of the Last Supper:

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to his disciples and said, ‘Take, eat, this is my body.’ And he took a chalice, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.’

Read John Chapter 6 for an in-depth teaching by Jesus. Do not doubt whether this is true, but rather receive the words of the Savior in faith, for He is the Truth!

Let us approach the Eucharist with reverence and awe.
